It was nearly dark by the time all elements reported ready for the assault. Rogue and Ferret kept a watchful eye on the camp, watching for undue activity until Chameleon found a nice sniper position near some brush. There were no independent patrols or follow-ups made to the downed sentries, which had some alarms going off in Rogues mind. Then, it was finally time to attempt the rescue. One-One to all teammates. Initiating second phase. All God elements, take down your assigned sentries.NOW!

There were no acknowledgements, but the big, silenced rifles did unleash their fury. Marine watched as his three snipers shot each of the four guardsmen with knock-out rounds. He thumbed his radio again, Two-Three, Two-Four, move it! Marine watched to the area off to his right, and just barely saw two figures moving towards the fence. Hack was going to attempt to place a device that would drain the electric charge from the fence into the ground, effectively neutralizing it. He would also be placing a small number of charges to blow a big hole in the fence, big enough for them to get in and out in an emergency. He just hoped that Hack didnt get his ass shot in the attempt.

Hack, for his part, was sweating his whole dash to the fence. Although Hawk was just behind him, covering their approach, he still felt it would look really bad dying trying to plant a grounding wire on a fence. They moved swiftly, but as quietly as they could possibly manage. They were then to cut the fence, and move inside and secure the immediate area for their opposite element to get inside. Once in, they were then supposed to find the ambassador and escape. Leveling the place was optional, but no one is to know that they were involved, which meant two things to Hack: get him out without anyone knowing better, or level the place and leave no survivors. He had a bad feeling that this mission wouldnt end without a lot of bloodshed. As they reached the fence, he silently said a prayer in the hopes that he was wrong.

He moved up to the fence under the cover of some small shrubberies. They were near the tents, and he half-suspected that most of the soldiers were either passed out or too drunk to really notice anything but their drinks. He unzipped his waist pouch, and pulled out his specially designed insulation gloves, and the grounding rod assembly itself. He put on the gloves, and studied the fencing. It was three simple strands of thick, metal fencing stretched around on posts, but it looked like it carried a lot of current. He shook his head and thumbed his radio. Two-Four to One-One

Go ahead.
Sir, this grounder will short out, Im going to have to cut the fence.
Marine swore to himself. By cutting the fence, they could get in, but the fence would still be live.
Cant win them all I guess. Acknowledged.

Hack reached around, and pulled out the heavily-insulated fence-cutters. The handles were insulated with a thick coat of plastic and other non-conductive materials, but Hack didnt really trust them. They didnt fail him either, as he quickly made three short cuts, and he quickly moved the still-live fencing to the side. Doors open, he whispered into the radio as he moved forward slightly. They moved slightly beyond the downed fence, and were near the backs of the tents as Ghost and Grinder, One-Five and One-Six respectively, moved in behind them. Silently and without any cue, they changed from their single-file formation to a bent-diamond formation, each soldier half-crouched and scanning the tents and trail behind them, and with Ghost taking point, Hack acting as tail.

Ghost, for his part, really sweated this approach. It would be the absolute worst place to be spotted by the enemy. The pathways were clear of obstructions, but were staggered. That also meant that the paths were narrow, and would naturally channel bullets in their direction. He led his battle-hardened team along the backsides of the tents and only approaching tents that were sealed up or empty. It also helped that the tents were tall-standing surplus tents, not the small, one or two-man tents that they hauled through the jungle for two days. They were approaching the last corner of tents when Ghost heard the sound of approaching footsteps. He stopped and held his left fist up while simultaneously dropping to one knee. He peered around the corner, and saw the small structure that they figured the guerillas were keeping the ambassador. While he couldnt see them, the sound of footsteps meant that someone was nearby, and as he listened closer, he thought he ehard two distinct sets. Ghost looked over to his partner Grinder, who had moved to the other side of the intersection with Hawk. Grinder looked back at his parter with a blank look. Ghost held up two fingers, and pointed towards the source of the steps. Grinder nodded. Ghost lid back behind cover, and whispered into his radio. One-Five to One-One
Go ahead
Sir, suspect possible hostiles in front of our approach. Can you see them?
One-Four here. I see them, replied Chameleon, Two male subjects, one with a hat and one without. Looks like theyre talking or listening to something. Requesting permission to take them out.
Three-Four here. I see the subject with the hat. I can take him.
Marine listened to the exchange as he peered at the subjects with his binoculars. They did indeed to be paying attention to each other more than anything. He looked at Ferret, who briefly nodded his head. Three-Four, One-Four, this is One-One. Fire on your subjects on my mark. Ground element, move the subjects out of sight when they do. He got a series of acknowledgements while he watched the subjects. They didnt really move, and he wouldnt keep his people waiting too long. Mark.

There was a brief period in time when nothing happened, but again, it was just a brief moment. Both of the subjects dropped at the same time, both unconscious from tranquilizer rounds to the heads. He also watched as the bodies were quickly recovered from the open ground. Ghost quickly saw that the bodies were hauled quietly behind their tents, and he and his team quickly moved forward. It was about a ten-yard dash to the building, and he wanted to get in and out as quickly as possible. He turned to face his teammate, still in the bent-diamond formation, and got their attention. He raises his fist, and pumped it up and down three times quickly, the signal that they should nearly-run to the building. They all nodded, and Ghost led the charge in his half-crouch. Hack, still nervous from his work on the fence and dragging the sleeping guards, didnt see the rope that tied the tent to the stake in front of his, and as he ran to the front of the tent, he tripped on it, and let out a small yelp as he hit the ground, his M4 Carbine sliding a meter in front of him. The noise made Ghosts team freeze and turn around in the same instant. They saw their fallen comrade, and immediately looked around for signs of a sniper.

***

Gerardo was going on his tenth year of service with his guerilla comrades. A veteran of several intense conflicts over his years, he knew what was normal and what wasnt in the jungle. The sound of someone tripping and falling over the tent rope, no matter how quiet the noise, was enough to wake him from his sleep. He shot straight up out of his sleep, sense already tingling with danger. He also slept with his AK-47 at his side, and quickly grabbed it as he slipped on his boots. Slowly and silently, he made his way to the tents front door

***

Ghost listened for any sign that Hacks fall was heard. Nothing presented itself as he watched his comrade pick himself up and get his rifle. Hack got back into formation, and still nothing seemed out of order. Still suspecting that theyve been had, his team moved up to the small building. There they spread out, two men on either side of the door, with Grinders element closest to the door handle. After waiting for the nod from his teammate, he slowly turned the handle on the door. It slid open, and his element moved inside.
