Extremeists Strike Again

Greetings,

As you can probably tell, Rogue Reviews is now up and running. Weve even had one review completed before the day was out. We also still have open slots for people who want to review, so if youre interested, be sure to read the information on the link above this entry. Unfortunately, all this meant that I was working on the computer nearly all day, and I didnt get a chance to play Counter Strike with him. Well, tomorrow is his Friday, so we may get to play still, if he stays up until I get home from work.

Daniel Pearl, the missing Wall Street Journal reporter, was confirmed dead today. His pregnant wife survives him. Pearl was kidnapped one month ago in Pakistan while he was supposed to meeting up with a contact to get some info for a story that he was writing. Instead he was kidnapped, and then executed one month later by extremists who claim to be pure Muslims. He was killed because hes Jewish, and supposedly anti-Islamic. From what Ive read in some news counts, he had his neck sliced by one terrorist while another engaged him in a conversation to distract him. Then his body was mutilated beyond belief with knives. First off, to kill an reporter whos only trying to write a story is cold, and the perpetrators of this act are nothing but cold-blooded murderers who deserve to treated like some Muslims did in the Philippines after World War II; get tied to posts, smeared with pig-blood, and then shot to death in the covered areas, so that even they know that Allah wont take them into Heaven. Second, being a reporter in a foreign land is indeed dangerous work, and this does underscore what happens sometimes. Third, by killing an innocent American, they risk inviting the wrath of the might of the American army.

Muslim, Christians, and Jews believe in the same God, amazingly. Yet each side is willing to kill the other, thinking that by committing such violence against non-combatants will put them in Gods good graces. First off, all faiths teach that God is loving and merciful, not an iron-fisted executioner. If theyre truly infidels, then let God sort them out. There is no need for Man to do His work when hes perfectly capable of doing it Himself. To use religion as your excuse to justify a truly unjustifiable act is reckless, irresponsible, and foolish. Now the American government is less likely to open ANY relations at all with these groups. In fact, these extremists may find that our military will go after them with more determination than they otherwise might have done. These same people want to develop nuclear and biological weapons to use against my wife, my parents, my brothers, my sisters, my niece, and me, which SERIOUSLY makes my blood boil. How can you justify killing a four-month-old infant?!? Its simple: YOU CANT. Yet they somehow justified killing 3,000 Americans on Sept. 11th, 2001 as such, I wonder how many children and parents died that day.

Now, I know the difference between an extremist and a true Holy Man. I, personally, dont care if youre Christian, Jewish, Islamic, paganistic, or whatever. What you believe is what you believe, and when our time to die comes, well find out whos right and wrong. The most widely accepted faiths preach true peace and prosperity. However, there are times when you must use violence to achieve a peaceful state. World War II is a good example of that, by the way. I dont believe that there will EVER be world peace, because as long as there are two human beings, there will always be war and conflict. All faiths will have their time and place, but to openly embrace radical concepts that promote abuse, merciless killing of non-combatants, and discrimination will leave our world in a perilous condition where the ends justify the means. And that will eventually mean the destruction of Earth through biological poisons and nuclear weapons. The survivors of such unrestricted warfare wont live long past such a conflict. That of course, gets us nowhere.

Theres a really neat passage in the book I, Jedi, by Michael Stackpole that I wanted to quote, but I think the book is at work. In it is the Jedi Code. The Jedi had a rule that you had to be at peace before you act was irresponsible. By having a clear mind, you are better able to analyze your actions. It sure would help if everyone involved in this whole damned mess would think with their brains and not their testicles for once.

Time is short and bullets seem to be in infinite supply. We shall blow more shit up later.
