Nicki BMT Update Page
This page is specifically
for update emails that Ive sent out to my distribution list to family members
updating them of Nickis progress. Ive posted them here for reference and to
help others who are curious about her progress keep track of it. I also ask visitors to this page to visit Nicki's
official BMT support page and post your message of encouragement to her.
These messages will be sent directly to Nicki everyday, and it will encourage
her to see this through even though it'll take longer than expected for her to
graduate. Please
visit this page and add your voice of support to the others that are already
there! This page was last updated 21 April 2004 Date

Rogue To all, I once again received a letter from Nicki again dated
Easter Sunday. Nicki reports that things are getting crowded now down there
since there are a lot of trainees cycling through for various reasons, and that
the negetive energy is suffocating coming from them all. She also reports that she's tried attending Catholic
services, but reports that they're rather boring, always going on about things
that she has no clue about. For Easter Sunday, her T.I.'s gave her and her flight
some candy and treats to celebrate. True to form, she managed to eat herself
sick of course. After speaking with Nicki, she says that after her
waiver runs out they'll evaluate her, but she expects to be put in a 30-day
physical training program. She hasn't confirmed it yet, but she's heard that if
they feel that if she hasn't made enough progress in this group at the end of
the 30 days that she'll likely be discharged. Let's keep the prayers up for her
if she gets put in this program! That's all for now. One final note, please do not send
her any packages or food, as she's not allowed to receive them at all. To all, Yesterday Nicki again got to make a call home,
and it turns out that she has been re-evaluated early. She's been off the
crutches and sedatives for a few days, and is now allowed to exercise at her own
pace. They've extended her waiver until May 1st, at which point I expect that
they'll test her again and put her back into training. She also says that this week has been pretty
rough on her, so it would help greatly if we all add extra words and letters of
encouragement for the next couple of weeks, as she's a little down over the fact
that this past Friday was her original graduation date. She expects to be able to make another
mid-week call, which should happen either Tuesday or Wednesday. That's all for now. Out. Date

Rogue To all, Today I have received two
tidbits of information on Nicki. First off, I received a letter today from
Nicki dated 4/10, and it's pretty chatty, no new real information or updates on
her condition. She reports that she was 'Latrine Queen' for a day and a half
last week, but she says that she sucks giving orders, especially to others who
have a bad attitude to begin with. On that note, she reports
that her flight is retarded beyond belife. During evening briefing question
session, the girls were asking the dumbest thing. I.E. "Do we need to use
toilet paper all the time?" They also searched everyone's security drawer
on Friday to look for the missing wallet. No report on whether they found it or
not. Drill and marching are a pain for her having to use the crutches, and she
made the mistake of calling a a male TI a "ma'am". Fortunately,
because she was disciplined enough to keep her military bearing solid and
correct herself, she didn't get chewed out or a '341', whatever that means. She
reports that only two trainees failed the inspection last week, and she was NOT
one of them. For a patio break (free time
for those of you not in the know) she got to have some ice cream, her favorite
'snowballs' candy, cheezits, and some minute maid juice. She also has a
tupperware thing filling quickly up with just letters and stuff that she's
received. She also got some therapy
recently, some neck and back massaging. The neck thing didn't hurt, but she
said her back was in pretty good pain through it all, but is fine now. Last bit on this, she is
saying that she's having a hard time now, she recently had a nightmare where my
brother and myself were killed, and she was crying most of Sunday morning. The second part of the
update was a three-line email that I received from Nicki's mother, basically
saying that she's still having the headaches when she called last night. That's all for now. Out. Date

Rogue To all, Nicki again got the chance
to call this morning. She reports that this monday's inspections went well, but
she hasn't had much time to read our mail. Her free time this week has also
been almost completely wiped out because an airman's wallet turned up missing,
and so her whole flight is being punished, and it was why she could only call
for seven minutes today. She also says that the
medics have just diagnosed her with severe headaches, not migraines. They've
given her some meds and told her to come back it the blind spots return with a
passion. She also says that she's going to tough out the headaches as best as
she can. Tomorrow she says that she'll get a couple of hours of free time, and
she'll try to catch up on our letters. That's all for now. Out. Date

Rogue To all, We've again received another
letter dated Sunday the 4th. Nicki tells me that she's been having her
migraine/blind spot attacks again since the end of Week 2. She's been gutting
it out with those, but she was supposed to see the medics about it on Monday.
We haven't heard from her about that, so we're assuming all is well with that.
Anyone who would like to send her a card about this, like me, I think she would
appreciate them. She also tells me that she's
been attending Protestant serivces on Sundays, in case anyone was wondering if
she's been attending church while there.
She also says that something kinda funny happened to her. She was
standing in formation one day and she heard the splatter of water on a sunny
day out in the middle of the field that they were standing in. She looked down
at her boot, and it turns out a sea gull 'spotted' her boot, after she spent
all morning shining the thing. a TI asked her what was wrong, and she bluntly
responded "Sir, a bird pooped on me." The TI laughed and moved on. She also reports that she'll
be allowed a mid-week call home, which she was hoping to make today, but it
doesn't appear that it happened. I'm hoping that she'll get the opportunity to
call home tomorrow so that we can all get an update on the migraine situation
at least. That's all for now. Out. Chris F. Date

Rogue To all, Today I received two more
letters from Nicki, amazingly dated only 4/2 and 4/3. Nicki says that her
spirits are very high considering her situation. She also reports that a new
trainee tried commiting suicide, unfortunately, to get out sooner. On the plus
side, she's been the calming voice of reason for several trainees that are in
the medical flight that are freaking out about never being able to go home, or
getting back to training, etc, and she's had success in convincing two of them
to stick it out with her. This past monday (4/5) she
had an inspection for her new MTI. This past weekend, she had to get her PLA
(Personal Living Area), wall locker, clothing and security drawer absolutely
perfect for inspection. If her flight passes, they'll get extra patio time this
coming weekend and possibly even base liberty, meaning that she'd have the
ability to wander around the base. on Friday the 2nd, she reports that she had
everything done as she was just so full of energy while everyone else was in
lazy mode. She also says that it's a lot more relaxed in the medical flight
versus her regular training flight. In case anyone's wondering, she's also been
assigned to the latrine crew. She also reports that she's
now down to 103.5 pounds, and that she was gonna set up a medical consult for
the 5th as well to see if she should get a waiver so that she can spend more
time in the chow hall and get her weight back up. For comparison, Nicki left
weighing 113 pounds. That's all for now. In case
anyone is curious or thinking about sending her items, she's not allowed to
receive any food or candy or anything of that nature. She can still receive
pictures as long as they are appropriate. Also, in case anyone else didn't get
it, her current mailing address is: (Address omitted due to
security concerns on this entry only) We should consider this
address valid until at least 4/16, as that is the date that she's going to be
medically re-evaluated. If you all don't have time to write her a letter, it's
easier for her to read cards, for as strange and crazy as it sounds, they take
less time to read and many times can convey the same message. That's all for now. Out. Chris F. Date

Rogue Greetings all, We've once again received a
call from Nicki today. Nicki is doing well, and is adjusting to things in her
medical flight. There is some clarification on what exactly is going on with
Nicki's pulled muscle, she's not allowed, by doctor's orders, to do sit-ups or
push-ups. She's also lost a lot or weight, for her at least, as she's now down
to 103 pounds. She'll go see a doctor again on Monday to see if she can get a
waiver so that she can go to the mess hall earlier and stay later so that she
can eat more and get her weight back up. She's also got inspections all next
week for a new T.I. for her flight. If her flight does extremely well, she'll
be looking at getting about an hour of free time next Saturday, my birthday,
with phone priviledges as well. She also says that she'll get a couple of hours
this weekend, I believe, to write letters, so she'll try to get caught up on
all of us as much as she can. Chris.
